Mark your calendars for Saturday July 9th and join us in Washington D.C. for our Summer Event: The Future of Fine Flavor Cacao!

The news is full of stories about rising cacao prices, future cacao shortages and the efforts underway to address these issues. The majority of the emphasis is on making cacao more disease resistant and increasing the yield. These are all wonderful efforts, but...what's going on to preserve fine flavor? How will we preserve the amazing and outstanding cacao enjoyed by chocolate aficionados and produced by artisan chocolate makers and chocolatiers?

One of these efforts is a fine flavor
cacao genetic identification project conducted by the FCIA and USDA. In our summer program we'll explore these efforts and others, and identify ways that those interested can participate and make a difference.

Register early and get a FREE tour* of the United States Department of Agriculture Research Services facility
in Beltsville, MD
on Monday July 11th from 1-4PM.

* Space for the USDA ARS tour is limited to the first 50 people registered that can attend. Participation will be based on your order in the registration queue. At this time, the tour is full but any opening will be offered to the next person in the registration queue.
